The Southeast Asian country of Myanmar, also known as Burma, is bordered by Bangladesh, India, China, Laos and Thailand although it is widely unheard of and rarely visited. Closed for years by a corrupt military reign and isolated from the outside world since the 1960's, it now seems as though it is lost in time and untouched by signs of globalization which makes it a truly unique and interesting place. You can find some of the largest temples in Asia here, as well as experience the most incredible cuisine in my opinion, but what stuck with me the most was the Burmese people.
